Don’t you hate spam?
Everybody hates spam, right? Then why does it still keep coming even though everybody fights against it?
The answer is simple. Because Spam Works.
According to a new survey made by Mirapoint and the Radicati Group many people who claim to hate spam are supporting the practice by buying products or services from spammers.
The survey found that 39% of users admit to clicking on embedded links within spam and 11% of users actually buy products or services from spam emails.
My concern is that because of this 11% of users the remaining 89% of users have to pay big money to fight the spam. Are you asking how much money? Well, the estimate is that anti-spam product and service revenues will climb close to $2 billion by 2008.
So how do we stop Spam?
It’s very simple.
Don’t buy products or services from spam emails. Then the spam will probably go away.
Note: If you click on a link embedded in spam email you will most probably start receiving more spam because you are telling your spammers that your email address works and you also show them interest in the product or service that the spam email was offering.
