Google has just released a beta version of their new web based spreadsheet application. With this cool thing you can create and open Microsoft Excel (.xls) or comma-separated values (.csv) files.

Google spreadsheet allows you to save files and easily share them online. You can invite people to edit or just to view your spreadsheets simply by adding their email address and sending them an email directly from the application.
Although it doesn’t have the advanced features of Microsoft Excel it is a great free alternative. It is very easy to use and I can tell you it is amazing tool if you consider that it is web based.
